The silent cost of winning at work and losing at home

A while back, I sat with a man who said,

“I’m killing it at work but I can feel my marriage slipping through my fingers.”

He hadn’t cheated or lied.

But he’d been absent.

Numb.

Always somewhere else in his head.

That’s the cost no one talks about.

Because we celebrate the wins…the deal, the bonus, the board seat…

but we rarely talk about what gets left behind in the process.

Winning at work shouldn’t mean losing yourself at home.

But for many, it quietly does.
